Looking at it's response on an actual horn (not plane wave tube) the extension looks only a little bit better than some of the best 2' large format horns already out. That might be all that's needed, but who knows.
They did send me some preproduction 1' compression drivers either late 2015 or early 2016 that had hand written 'engineering samples' and build numbers on them. They weren't bad, but didn't extend quite as high as I was hoping. There was a very interesting sample that they decided not to produce because they didn't think demand would be high enough. The guy I was dealing with talked to corporate and at first they were going to make them just for us, but the order had to be at least 1000pcs. No I did not. Yes wide frequencies but it is gonna be down at the top, I don't dig out all the CD specs but the larger ones roll off more or are coaxes, dunno about this one since I haven't heard it but it looked good to me for a 2 way, that is all. Also Celestion is often nice sounding IMO so I think it has potential based on the little info there is, but potential is the key word. I gather this isn't a coax. Look at the youtube at 1:28. It's an annular diaphragm, so for breakup the relevant dimension is not the 6' dia, but the distance between the annulus ID and OD, which looks to be about 1 1/2'.

And it's effectively less than that because the VC is not at one of the edges. But if this isn't the first annular diaphragm with this size/range, I guess it's not the big deal the guy in the video makes it out to be.
