I bought this game 2 years ago. Was since day 1 a fan of the Driver series (the first one came out in 1999). Games aren't really my thing anymore, but you can't realise how addicted I am to Driver: San Francisco Been playing the online mode almost every day since 2 years for those who don't know what it's about, basically it's just about car chases. It isn't a racing game, it's more a 'pursuit game' if you want. It's so much fun trying to escape while 7 other players chase you down I just noticed this 'Games section', so I thought I'd post some pics.

It was my first game for a computer (only had PS2 and such before) and I thought it would suck with the keyboard. Actually it didn't, I stayed with it. At the beginning it was a matter of getting used to it, also because there's no vibration, so it was as if something was missing. But now it's fine, and you can even precisely tap on the keyboard to drive more precisely, it's really well done I must say however, the game has quite a few bugs. Like some people don't find anyone in online mode because of their internet connection, and for some people it freezes when they have too many friends.

It broke at some point so he bought another one and it worked fine. I can tell you however, this game isn't really made for gamepads. You will constantly loose, I know a few people who play with pads or steering wheels and also use the cockpit view and they are terrible.

May 16, 2014  I bought this game 2 years ago. Was since day 1 a fan of the Driver series (the first one came out in 1999). Games aren't really my thing anymore, but you can't realise how addicted I am to Driver: San Francisco.

It's not like other racing games where you drive on a track, because when you're being chased by 6 other people here and being hit from all sides, you really need to be as flexible as possible, and constantly look around you. Most gamepads don't even have enough buttons for what you'll need to do.

My left hand has fingers on the A-S-D keys which I need all the time to look left, right and behind me. My little finger is on the shift key that I need to 'shift' into other vehicles (which morph into police cars as I chase someone, a seriously cool concept). My index finger changes position between the D-key to look to the right and the C-key to boost the car. My thumb is on the space key to hit the handbrake around corners.

And that was just my left hand - and not even all of it, because there's other keys to 'swap' cars during the ride, and selecting those vehicles, etc. Then there's my right hand too, and the mouse that I need to control the shift cursor in 'shift mode'. Seriously you need to be very quick and there's lots of controls, so I really do not suggest playing this with a gamepad.

Also - I don't mean to show off - but I'm playing with a keyboard, and I'm 1st worldwide in 70% of all challenges (on the online leaderboards), and apparently I am the best online player as well haha. Click to expand.Haha I don't play in offline mode, obviously if you do you're the only one on the leaderboards But I also meant in normal multiplayer games, I rarely see someone who can beat me.

I'd love to actually, I hate playing against noobs. I like when the matches are very hard, when my car is 1% away from being totalled and I still have a few kilometers to get to the last checkpoint Some people hate it and always want to win, but for me personally, it gives me goosebumps. That's what the game is all about if you ask me I admit I've posted this because I wanted to bring some new players, there's too many noobs right now, all the good players are gone And about the 'unable to connect' error.

It's weird because I've had that as well for almost a week or so, quite annoying to be honest and also a bit less players because of that. Since I've had the game it's happened quite a few times over the years, I hope they fix their servers or whatever soon. But at least nothing lags, that's the worse.
